| Breaking News |  | Monday, August 23rd, 1920: Vienna Bats Silenced by Mauser
Hubertus Mauser humbled the Vienna Musik today at Ballpark of Berlin. In the 1-0 shutout win, he yielded 5 hits, fanned 4 and walked 1 to pace the Berlin Teutonic Knights to victory.
This season Mauser has compiled a 9-12 record with a 3.90 ERA in 23 starts. |
 | Monday, August 23rd, 1920: Teutonic Knights Yilmanz Will Miss Season
The season is apparently over for Bora Yilmanz. The Berlin Teutonic Knights medical staff informed the club that the catcher will be out at least 7 months with a dislocated shoulder. Yilmanz was hurt in the game against Vienna while running the bases. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.
In 48 games this season Yilmanz has compiled a .237 batting average with 28 hits and no home runs. He has also scored 6 times and knocked in 15 runs. |
 | Wednesday, August 18th, 1920: Super Swinger -- Kirsch Slams 5 Hits
Today the Teutonic Knights downed the Monarchs 10-1 as Nisin Kirsch sprayed hits all over Ballpark of Berlin in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
The Berlin center fielder said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today, and I didn't miss any of them."
N. Kirsch singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th and singled in the 8th.
Kirsch on the season is hitting .297 with 2 home runs. His stats include 56 RBIs and 60 runs scored.
