| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, August 18th, 1920: Super Swinger -- Kirsch Slams 5 Hits
Today the Teutonic Knights downed the Monarchs 10-1 as Nisin Kirsch sprayed hits all over Ballpark of Berlin in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
The Berlin center fielder said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today, and I didn't miss any of them."
N. Kirsch singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th and singled in the 8th.
Kirsch on the season is hitting .297 with 2 home runs. His stats include 56 RBIs and 60 runs scored.

 | Tuesday, August 10th, 1920: Season May Be Over for Monarchs Konda
The season is ending on a bad note for Isayu Konda, second baseman for the London Monarchs. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Konda was hurt against the Vienna Musik while colliding with a player at a base. He suffered a herniated disc and will be out for at least 8 months.
So far this year Konda has hit .319 with 9 home runs, 63 RBIs, and 84 runs scored.

Matadors pitcher Héctor Morales did his job today, blanking the London Monarchs at Conquistadors Ballpark. He scattered 6 hits while striking out 3 in the 5-0 shutout.
So far this season Morales has a record of 12-13 with 94 strikeouts and 51 walks in 206 innings and a 3.36 ERA.
