At bat the Outback floundered, fizzled and failed to score.
"His fastball moves and he mixes in the slider," the Sydney manager said. "He kept us off-balance."
The Mexico City pitcher hurled a 6-hit shutout in an exceptional effort. He gave up 1 walk and had 1 strikeout.
"I felt good," Díaz said. "That's probably the best fastball I've had all season. I was able to locate it pretty well. They were super-aggressive, which helped me."
So far this season Díaz has a 3-3 record with a 3.26 ERA. | |
