Saturday, August 28th, 1920: Kinch Bashes 5 Base Hits
After the Royal Canadian 14-13 loss to Chicago and his 5-hit day first baseman Tim Kinch told reporters, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school, or college ball, two hits in a game is very good... three or four hits even better... 5 or more are out of sight... and if it is in pro ball... it is really something special. It will get you in the record books, but you won't necessarily win the ballgame."

The 33-year-old player got into the record book today with a spectacular 5 for 5 game against the Chicago Defenders.

The skipper of the Mounted Baseballists spoke glowingly of Kinch, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Tim did that to perfection today. I just wish some more our players swung the bat as good as him. We might have won the game."

T. Kinch singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 9th.

This season Kinch is hitting .386 with no home runs.
