 | Friday, August 27th, 1920: 5-6 Game for Qiao 5 hits in 6 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Tian-yun Qiao of the Shanghai Dragons had a sensational 5-6 game against Rio de Janeiro at Dragons Ballpark. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 20-18 shellacking of the Carnival. In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off... Right, skipper?" T. Qiao singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off O. Parente in the 9th. Qiao's current batting average stands at .292 and he has chalked up 4 home runs and 34 RBIs. |
